We also have a fine collection of medical equipment and paraphernalia going back over 100 years. This collection was put together by Luther and Patricia Gohlke. Also included are many items from Luther’s own medical practice in Ranger Texas which lasted from 1960 until his retirement in 2002. Upstairs above the building where the museum is housed was the location of a hospital and clinic during the early days of the 20th century. The descendents of one of the doctors who practiced there have put on loan to the museum many items of furniture and equipment plus pictures of these items when they were in use in the rooms upstairs. Several other doctors in the area and the Eastland Memorial Hospital have donated or put on loan many other interesting items.
